Possible side effect of brushing your teeth with baking soda in order to whiten them

Baking soda may to help whiten your teeth. However, baking soda is an abrasive that may ware down your tooth enamel as well. The warning down of your tooth enamel may cause more damage to your over all dental health. Before using baking soda or any home remedies you should consult your local dentist to make sure that you will not be doing more harm than good.
